| This was Tanzania |
I came to Dodoma the next day. The capital of Tanzania with a flair of a village. I hoped to find normal roads after Dodoma - but nothing and I must drove the next 300 km over the same dirt roads as before. Found a nice place in the afternoon for the night and also a puncture by my tire. I went to Iringa, repaired my puncture and then I could drove about normal roads in the direction to the Malawi border. I came to a police check after 200 km and the man asked my - Why haven't I a British car number. I said I came from Germany and there it is normal - this car number. He looked in the front and to the back. I said it's all the same. Later, on the border to Malawi I saw - I had lost my car number and now I understood the question of the policeman. (smile). I turned in the direction to Malawi border after Mbeya and slept in my car in the near of a custom check post. Early in the morning I crossed the border to Malawi and I hope my car have coped with the last heavy dirt Tanzanian roads.. |
