Namibia
Windhoek |
How so often at the policececkpost and at the borders - the staff ask me, it's possible that I take along one person to Windhoek. Naturally it's possible and so sat Imelda besides me. We arrived Windhoek after 4 hours. The distance between border and Windhoek was the same as in Botswana - long and straight roads through the bush Kalahari. No villages, only farmland. Short, before we arrived Windhoek, the landscape changed. More mountains I could see at the horizon. Not so high, but I saw an other view, other pictures as before and my view could go in the far. I said good bye to Imelda and was looking for a Bed & Breakfast. The orientation was easy for me - many German names of the streets and not so difficult for me as the African words. |

I was looking for some information's about Namibia at the next day. Found a roadmap. And many poeple speaks German here. It's normal here to say "Guten Tag" (hello is the same). I studied the map and planed the route for the next days in the afternoon.
I wouldn't stay a long time in Windhoek, but I've enjoyed a German food with a draught beer after a long time. I asked for a visa to Ghana and got it after 2 days. In this time of waiting I was looking for a shipping company. I found it and we agreed the transport at the April 8th from Walvis Bay to Accra in Ghana. I booked a flight via Johannesburg to Accra. Then I hope, that I get back my jeep in a small time and my last stage of the travel will be begin from Ghana via Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco back to Europe. So I'm ready after 3 day and I finished all things. But I was also finish with my power. The cold of Botswana came back and I needed some time of a rest and silence. All things was more heavy as before. More fever. More sweat. More heavy legs. I lay in the bed about 3 days. |
