| Nouadhibou |
I arrived Nouadhibou. The first was the petrol
station. I had still 2 litre petrol in my car. This is a distance about 20
km.
I looked for the police and found a Senegalese man. He had a campground and said, it isn't possible go to Mauritania today and tomorrow. The first time is the Saturday. So I needed money for the next days. I found out during the change, It is possible to cross the border. Also today. I need only a guide through the mine field and the man behind the change office said, he could organized the customs today and he is a guide. So I could cross the border today and go to Dakhla. Nobody know some things about a escort in Morocco. After the border I'm free in Morocco. So I changed my last Dollars only two was the rest. But I saw the sun at the horizon - tomorrow I will find a cash automat in Morocco and I have enough money. So I got my stamp in the Carnet de Passage and we agreed now - start tomorrow in the morning 8 am. O.K. I got a free room for the next night and the last 2 hours of the bright day I hat to need for my car. When the car stay it get to much petrol it is finish and go off. The carburettor. It was my dream every time - I would like repair the carburettor. No - this was my nightmare. But just I gave my best and I was looking for the mistake. I couldn't find it and so was the only one possibility - more gas and the engine rotated in stay with 1500 U/min. Better as off. I hoped he don't needed much petrol now. We started 8 am. Police control and the man would get money for the border cross. I asked the Mauritanian man yesterday - how much money I will need on the border - nothing he said. So I gave him my last 2 Dollars an 20 German Mark. I had luck. It was enough. My guide pilot through the mine field to the Mauritanian border. Then I hat to go alone to the Morocco border. I arrived there after 7 km.

The road with mines and the landscape between Mauritania and Morocco. In the Lonley Planet I could read 3 French people lose your life here and my guide spoke about some Spain poeple. But they were without guide. |

You will ask - not so much pictures. Well, I had
to fight with the sun in the first days. I hadn't enjoy took pictures in
this time. When I stood on my legs and didn't sit on my bump began a
terrible time for me. My mind began to rotate. It was brutal to go beside
the shadow.
And later in the Sahara - there I haven't enough fresh akkus (rechargeable batteries) for my camera. The GPS war the first and important for my life. I had to change the batteries from GPS to camera in the last time, as I know the last way. It was my last set and in Nouadhibou all batteries was empty. Well, and then I had to much time. My cash box was also empty. The Dollars finish and the next possibility to change by credit card is Dakhla in Morocco. Soon You will see - I left Mauritania with zero Dollar and I had to eat the left bread of Arab poeple. So was my troubled haste not stupid.
