| To Lilongwe |
At the Monday I was early on the legs and when you think, every time sunset - no, this is sunrise. But the sun was finished some hours and rain was coming. It's normal in the rain time (smile). I went to Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. The next 200 km I drove parallel to the lake and I came in the land of the maize eater. The same as in the land of the mango eater, only now I saw the rest of the maize on the road. In the half way I must crossed a river, but the bridge was destroyed. I saw the situation and said no problem, but 3 seconds later many poeple stood around me and all said, you need a guide. It's dangerous without a guide. They were the firm conviction, without a experienced guide nobody could cross this river. We agreed a the guide get 200 Kw and now 10 guides wade before me and my car through the deep and dangerous river. The first was 10 or 20 cm deep water, but the last meter was the most difficult - 25 cm deep water. I couldn't believe this and said to the next poeple - This is a joke? He smiled and I gave him the 200 Kw. |

| Lilongwe |
In the afternoon I arrived Lilongwe. Found a nice accommodation in the St. Peterīs Anglican Church Guest House. A little hostel at a church. warm shower and I took a washday for my dresses.
Some dresses needed this, after this waterhole of Tanzania. Especially my good jeans. When I washed I could think this is the best watercolor of aquarelle. I had a good comfort and I said I stay a day longer. Lilongwe itself is a little town without the flair of a capital. A large village. But I only know the old town. 3 km from there is the new town with the embassies but only sterile and the true life here in the old town. Street trade on every corner and I got a warning triangle, the police in Zambia asked everybody - where is the warning triangle.

When you left the main street, then the town lost the last of signs of a town. And I asked me, why not? Then Malawi is a little and nice country, a example of ecology build. Only little villages with small huts of bamboo, loam or loam stones. The roof with reed. And when the poeple are dead - then also the hut go back to the earth. No rubbish, dump and waste. And a free and clean place for the next generation. Without special waste management. But how long will be it?
